The Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament kicked off this week with a bang. Lots of bill fish being released and 3 marlins brought back to the docks. A 754lb blue is in the lead. If you're in town head down to the waterfront and get in on the action at the weigh station every evening, its a good time.
Now, for my kind of fishing report. The spanish mackerel have been plentiful along the beaches. Flounder are still on the reefs and have been moving inside as well. A few red drum can be found in the marshes. Amberjacks and sea bass are in large numbers on the wrecks. The cobia have slowed down but don't give up on them yet because you may still come across them in the deeper waters around the wrecks. Kids are getting out of school so come on down and book a fun family day of fishing.
